Mentoring
Mentors are appointed
to provide students with resources that would help them be better
prepared for the demands of the Demanding Creative Curricula, to
give them a better understanding of practice and to afford an opportunity
for fun and excitement in their education.
The course responsibility, apart from the faculty members teaching
designated courses, will be shared by experts from the industry
/ society, who will be provided to a group of students as mentors.
These mentors who have spent many years in their profession would
share responsibility for exposing the students to creativity, documentation,
career options, conceptual design etc.
The objective of the Mentoring Program is to provide a pathway and
vehicle for students to establish a one-on-one relationship with
experienced professionals in order to access, explore and better
understand the practice of respective fields.
Objectives
The goals of the mentor system
are:
- Get incoming students enthused about their courses
- Show students how to make the most of their education
- Provide students with hands-on projects
- Challenge the students to be creative
- Force the students to make several oral presentations
- Improve the students' technical writing skills
- Promote team-building activities
